Infinity

The blood no longer is present
as a skeleton’s hand reaches for the past.

Life no longer is alive with choices
as bones recycle images and experiences
that once were.

A lost love pumps its heart
as bones crack one by one
to enter eternity.

The skeletal remains are consumed
rushing toward infinity.

Lily Tierney’s work has appeared in The Stray Branch, Illumen Magazine, Harbinger Asylum, Veil: Journal of Darker Musings, and Jellyfish Whispers.  She enjoys writing poetry and flash fiction.
